waddlemasta
Hey guys its been forever since I've been on these boards seeing as how I sold my Turbo Grand Prix back in 05. Anyways now I have a 92 Regal with the 3.1 in it. I have a big problem however. Start the car and it runs like crap misses and when you hit the accelerator it spits and sputters and stalls. So I was thinking the EGR. Well I pulled it off and put a make shift block off on it and when you start her now she purrs like a kitten but when you give her gas she will still miss and sputter just not nearly as bad. So my question is do you think it is the EGR creating the problem? and if so if I make a proper block off plate for her til I can afford a new one do you think it will be ok? ns87
As an owner of a 3.1 mpfi, I can tell you it can be anything. Bad plugs and wires? Bad icm? Fuel injectors? Vacuum leak? maybe the EGR? I think if you make a block off plate, you're gonna have a check engine light

waddlemasta
Well I went ahead and made a metal block off today and installed her and it took care of the problem no engine light or anything. Runs a little rough at idle now but I'm sure the injectors need a good clean out but I can stomp on the gas now and it doesn't miss a beat. Take it out for a little drive tomorrow and see how it does. Got to have my $400 well spent running right so I can put my 07 Cobalt away for her winter rest.
