BXX
i used coilover sleeves from a1racing no honing required http://shop.a1racing.com/cok12457-tk.aspx they also carry this one now which should work on Gabriel and Monroe struts which are just barely to big for the sleeve that fits the smaller kybs http://shop.a1racing.com/cok12452-h.aspx
19Cutlass94
Those are the same sleeves I have and I had to hone them out.
BXX
They worked great for me.... My adjuster nuts and sleeves came in today, I didnt get back into town until an hour ago so they were delivered to out leasing office. I will get them tomorrow and test fit them on the spare front knuckles I have, and I only have 2 more items to come in and then everything goes on the car. I will update yall
BXX
Picked up the adjuster nuts and sleeves from our leasing office. Waiting on the torrington bearings and upper spring seat. About to go pick up the ES Poly inner sway bar bushings for my FE3 bar I ordered from Autozone. Hopefully the spring seats will arrive today. Once again, the stock mount will be implemented until I get ones made that I want. Gonna have my father draft them up on Solid Works once I get him some measurements. Hopefully, everything comes today so I can get my car on the lift at work tomorrow and get everything done. Fuckin cradles gonna tie up everything most of the time. Calls for 4.5 hours, I hope to have it done in under 2. What will be getting done -Removing rear springs, going to the front, install new springs on the rear -Install 22mm ES Poly bushings on the rear sway bar -Install new front cradle, with TGP rack on it, and FE3 bar with ES Poly bushings -Tear down front knuckles, modify for coilovers -Install FE3 front upper stock mounts -Install front coilovers -Set ride height, as low as possible, checking for rubbing. -Align car, I expect to have to do full camber adjustment front and rear to coincide with my specs _EDIT_ UPS just dropped off my torrington bearings, looks like I have to wait another day for my upper spring seats... gpchris
what ID size did you use for the sleeves on the front? Same as the rear works Jamie really? so the front and rear struts have the same OD?
CSI_MuNkY
what ID size did you use for the sleeves on the front? Same as the rear works Jamie really? so the front and rear struts have the same OD? Indeed they do... I know this because when got the helds I almost put the rear sleeves on the front and the fronts on the rear... only problem would of been setting at stock ride height. Held sells his with a spacer to move the rear sleeve up 2 inches, but his sleeves are only 5 inches. I just finished machining out some sleeves from Summit Racing, I had to take a total of 100 thou of the total ID, but now they fit... I will post about that later... BXX
Update guys!!!!! I have everything in now. Only one problem, sleeves are indeed wrong. Heres why When I placed an order to do the rears last year, the sleeves I got were on backorder, a1racing called me, and after talking to him, he knew I ordered the wrong sleeves since he supplies the sleeves to Lee at Held! He shipped me sleeves I needed that were 2.171" ID, not the 2.100" that I ordered. My online order didnt reflect the different sleeves he shipped me, so when I just placed my last order, I got the wrong sleeves. Didnt catch it until earlier today. I just got off the phone with a1racing, the correct sleeves are now on order, I will get them Monday. They dont have the 7" long 2.171"ID anymore, they only have 5" which will work fine since my goal is to lowered, not lifted So the PN I just posted was incorrect, I will update with new correct numbers on everything. Oh yeah, Gen 2 front mounts are needed for everything to work correctly without being halfassed. I will take pics and post them soon
