park release solenoid and engine temp

i have a new(to me) 95 grand prix and had a couple of questions.

the parking solenoid (holds shifter in park until brake is released, this is a console shift) was flakey, voltage when the brake is pressed dropps to like .05, or 01 volts, but the solenoid is still sticking, works fairly well unplugged. Any problem in just removing this part ? i am fairly well trained on putting the brake on before shifting out of park.

Temp: temperature seems to run warm, temp shows 210 normally, but has climbed to 235 or so when idling.

When are the fans to kick on ? (without ac on) ... both fans seem to work on, i removed each relay when the AC was on and they would kick over to the other fan. (passenger side being preferred if both are present.)

any issues with those temps ? another post suggested running 230-240 is normal.. just seems high to me.

I removed that solenoid on my 95 GP 2 years ago. Stuck a couple of times and could not get out of park, won't happen again! As for the temps, on mine I rarely see anything over 210-220 even after long periods of idle. Not sure of temp turn-on of fans.

That's about normal for the temperature range while idling. Not much air is moving through the radiator or over the engine, so heat builds up. A lot of newer vehicle's temperature guage's are actually a little slower at moving around, due to the number of people worrying about the temperature guage climbing and dropping as they do.

um i havent used the brake pedal in years to shift out of park and i love the ft that unlike the lumina mine does not have that feature. Even the cars that have it that i drive i just tap the pedal enough to shift.

normal temps are about 205-220
