spiderw31
I'm about to order a new alternator from rockauto, and they list two different Delco part numbers for my '92 3.4 TDC: 3342412, and 3342413. Does anybody know which of these would be the right one, or if they are interchangable? Also, would htere be any reason to get the new Remy alternator vs. a reman Delco? Andrew
i would get the reman Delco just because ive never heard of Remy. as per the part# difference, i have no idea.
Addicted To Boost
I've heard of Delco-Remy before.
rockfangd
delco-remy is basically the same thing as the delco. Most original alternators are delco-remy. For years now

GP1138
I used to think the "remy" stood for "remanufactured".

spiderw31
So it seems as though the Remy and the Delco parts should both be a good bet, as they are essentially the same thing. Does anyone have any experience to recommend the new alt over the reman alt? Also, back to the two part nmbers for the reman... are they interchangable? I really dont feel like getting the wrong one, and having to ship it back, get it exchaged, yada yada yada...
spiderw31
Chirp chirp... So no one knows if the two Delco part numbers are interchangeable or not?
88red4cyl
Chirp chirp... So no one knows if the two Delco part numbers are interchangeable or not? They both seem to be the same alternator to me... I'd say that as long as its the CS130, then your alright.. The only difference I can spot is that one says it's a non-stock item and could be delayed up to five business days... I'd just go for the 3342413... You can always email them to ask what the difference is as well..
spiderw31
True, true, I could email... didn't think of that . One thing that is interesting though is that if I plug either part number into the serach on www.monsterpartsonline.com, i comes up as just "REMAN GEN", and is something like $20 cheaper than rockauto. Not only that, but it is a different part than they list as the alt for my car, just to add confusion I suppose . Oh well, I just order one and be done with it!
