swift13 Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 i dont think so i have replaced the o2 recently seemed simple enough except for the location and i know i keep kind of asking the same questions over and over but i wanna get this right. i am assuming the back pressure changes so does that effect the performance at all(for worse) or is that just if it gets clogged?? tdvs Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 not much...my GP is NICE now after the cat is off. Actually sounds better with it off or just stinks? smells great....and sounds great Hope this isn't too far off topic. But speaking of sounding great, I live a block and a half from Fox Lake and am sitting here with the patio door open listening to a high power, high speed boat going by with open exhaust.....MAN....I love that sound....Music to my ears Wish my CS vert sounded like that to people off in the distance Tom Quote
RedGTP Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 I have remove my Cat and put 29inch long glasspack in his place .. humm the sooo loud sound !! Quote
88red4cyl Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Not trying to hijack your thread here, but I have a question. (mods, feel free to move this into its own thread if you feel necessary).. I am wanting to replace my cat on the LTZ with a straight pipe... How do you go about this? Is any welding required (I.E. I have to take it to a shop), or does the old one unbolt and the straight pipe bolts back in? Quote

AWeb80 Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Clamps Will Leak. I Tried Them. And Will, You'll Need An O2 Simulator For 96+ Quote

And Will, You'll Need An O2 Simulator For 96+ Will a shop just weld in a straight pipe, or is it the kind of thing where you have to 'know someone'? If you find a speed shop, they might...or you may be lucky and they'll do it and write it off as "off-road use only." Quote
swift13 Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 i have used clamps and they did not leak but i also said a weld would be stronger and more secure even if it does leak a clamp can still be used its not like the car is going to blow up. Quote
