Marcus18
the computer in the grand prix that the 3800 s/c is going into has a 3.1 in it. it has the type of computer that mounts on the stut tower(like normal) and has the four big plugs going into it. now I was wondering I havent gone over and checked but my uncle has a buick lasabre with the 3800 n/a. I was wondering does that have the same type of computer as whats used on the 3.1L(black box with four big plugs)?? or is it a different setup? I bought a computer today but I still have to find a harness thats out of car already(I'm not the type to take the whole dash out and pull all the wires out in the middle of a 90 degree day with 10-20 misquitos swarming) marcus
god910
Well, I can't say for sure, but I can give you a few things to think about (that you probably already know) 3800 is a 90* it's SFI not MPFI like the 3.1. It has a bunch of different sensors (MAF instead of MAP, different crank sensor, etc...) I don't know if you are hoping to keep the harness from the car and just plug the engine in, that's not gonna happen. Get a wiring harness from the 3800. It's this kind of shit that makes me happy that I'm doing a strip trim 3800S2 Turbo (in a Red 90 TGP) I don't care about anything but fuel and spark. If it's running, I'm good.
