RedGTP Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 I receive my news dome lights switch by j_mezz... I decide to make some news goodies with that... all stuff I have... Remove the dome light remove lights after one hour of labor .. lol and welding it's the result on car and at the night, it's not representative on pic .. but 'live' .. it's 2X brighter of OEM light, OEM like yellow darkwhite 3500k - 4000k, LED was 6000K, bright white, I love it ! lets your comments Quote
DavidHowell3633 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Very cool. Where did you find the leds? Quote

DavidHowell3633 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 How about providing them for us unlucky and LEDless vert owners? Quote
jmoore4294 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 AWESOME!! Now make one for me...LOL!! Quote
j_mezz Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Outstanding! Super-bright is nice, and using LED's you won't get the same heat build-up that probably burned out the original switches! I can definitely make new dome light lenses that can take the minimal heat that LED's throw off, the jury is still out on the original high-heat bulbs... Quote
Crazy K Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 VERY VERY VERY GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!! I would like the SAME LEDs. I have SEVERAL projects I was to do. Where can I get some? p.s. I think you mean Solder and not Weld Quote
j_mezz Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Oh, and I can make lenses that are tinted or glow-in-the-dark that will work with that setup too... Quote

Venom Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Nice work, Im in the process of doing the same thing with the interior lights on my CS. What MCD are your LEDs? I bought a pack of 100 of Ebay for $10 and I believe they are 13000MCD. Quote
CutLoose Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Nice work, definitely better than the so-hot-they-melt-the-housing bulbs. Quote

slick Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Yes, candella. Micro means that they don't even measure one candella = not bright, at all. I worked with LumiLed's LED's, for example, that are being used in OEM automotive equipment. VERY bright. BTW, good project, looks good! Quote
