Anybody know how to remove an outter stub on a cv halfshaft?

probably for the 6 speed swap.

you just want the part that goes into the hub? my guess is that you'd need custom length axles anyway, so i'd cut it to weld it to the other half of the axle that goes onto the new transmission.

but to answer your question. i have no idea. with a large press would be a sure way to get it out

There's a snap ring on the axle just inside the bearing. It has two "legs" the stick out. Spread it with some snap ring pliers and pull the bearing off.

Any tips to getting in there lol?

It's just barely in there. Possibly needlenose pliers would fit. Or maybe a flat blade screwdriver but thats kind of a pain in the ass. Not hard to get to, wipe the grease out and you'll see it just inside the bearing hub, about an eighth of an inch around the axle.

hmm theres still some grease but i dont see how anything can get in there... The "rod" is very loose, i can tell theres a snap ring on the other side but i cant see past the bearings...

Not sure how to explain it any better. If it doesn't have the "legs" then you just take a hammer and tap on the bearing housing to "knock" the bearing off. You don't have to hit it very hard to knock it loose if it's the type without the "legs". Otherwise, that ring has to be spread.

50 pound sledge might do it but the bearing won't be usable after that. Actually the snap ring with the "legs" has a 90 degree edge to it and that makes it a BITCH to remove with a hammer.
