Addicted to eaton
Ok so this coming payday I’m going to have some money to put in my car. Now its time to look at some supporting mod’s for the 3.4 pully. I have found a TB Spacer for an L67 (comes w/ longer studs and a gasket) for $30 shipped. What is this going to do for me? I know someone said something about it. And my friend made one for is Firebird. Anyways what am I going to improve by doing this? Is it going to be noticeable? Is it going to be something to help me with my 3.4? I think it has something to do with fuel to air ratio. But I’m probably wrong! Also. Found a set of ZZP headers for dirt cheap. Has anyone ever put headers on the gtp’s… how hard is it?
Addicted to eaton
Anyone?
White93z34
as far as I know a TB spacer just lets you run nitrous, but I can't imagine it doing anything noticeable. by "ZZP headers" do you mean pace setters? they aren't a bad install, just buy new gaskets for them, reuse your stock manifold gaskets, get a o2' sensor extension, and a few good tight band clamps. and you should be good to go
99RegalGS
I would pass on the TB spacer and go with the used headers. You will not feel anything with the TB spacer, and you will probably feel a little better top end with the headers..
Euro
What do you mean by ZZP headers for cheap? ZZP sells Pacesetter headers, and they're own brand of header(which... are NOT cheap, and there aren't any used sets out there yet to be cheap because they just got released probably a week ago) Screw the TB spacer, it won't do a damn thing
Andrew
the big benefit of the spacer IMO is that it acts as a coolant plug. for whatever reason, GM thought it a grand idea to run coolant thru the upper manifold to the TB. hot coolant warms up the TB thus it potentially warms the incoming air. and we all know warm air sucks. dbtk2
Throttle body spacer is a complete waste of your time/money. I'm not sure what you have for mods already, but you'll want a PCM, 180 tstat, colder plugs, some sort of exhaust (headers or ported manifolds & 3" downpipe), and to make sure you are safe some sort of valvetrain mods (rockers or cam) wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm assuming the headers you are talking about are pacesetters. If so, they are really shitty quality, but as far as performance they work very well because of the big primaries and collectors. So if you are just looking for power, they will make it.
Addicted to eaton
thanks! right now i am just going to do exhaust. So what headers should i look for? Right now my plan is 3.4 pulley BUT we all know i am going to get addicted. So i want to do exhaust now. I really don't know much about car's and this is going to be a learning experience for me. SO headers, 3'' down pipe, U bend delete. I somewhat know about the U bend. its somewhere under the car that has a U kind of shape and all you do is cut it out and weld a strait pipe in Correct? Headers Will replace the exhaust manifolds allowing more air to flow out of the car witch will reduce restriction at higher rpm Correct? (the six pipes that run out of the motor on front and back). am i right? Now... were is the "down pipe" and whats it do?
Euro
the down pipe connects the exhaust manifolds to the rest of the exhaust system. If you get headers, you can order them so a DP will come with it. And...along with that your u-bend will be deleted in the process!
Addicted to eaton
Thanks matt! Wonder what brand of headers i should look for..
Euro
well, you have these choices: SLP-most expensive, real good quality..haven't really heard complaints about them The Other Guys(TOGs)= probably the general favorite brand, from the popularity and quality that I've seen Pacesetters= cheap, unless you get them coated they won't be anything pretty to look at like Shaun(dbtk) said above. But, they serve their purpose! Good bang for the buck ZZP= expensive, just got released a couple weeks ago. Nothin really to say, as in I don't know if anybody's bought them yet
Addicted to eaton
Sounds like Pacesetters is what i should go with then! Im not worried about the look. i'm worried about function.
digitaloutsider
I'd still get the coated ones.

J
they protect the engine bay from heat which in turn reduces horsepower
Addicted to eaton
Oh that kinda coated. i thought he was meaning makeing them shinny or something lol
Euro
Well they're ceramic coated, so I guess that they're sort of shiny. But it's still a good idea.
digitaloutsider
they protect the engine bay from heat which in turn reduces horsepower Ceramic coating does the exact opposite. It dissipates heat faster.
oldscsc
Coated ones? whats the diff? the look? Have you seen wrapped headers? Wrapping them is the cheaper way to go, and accomplishes the same thing as coating. It soaks up heat, so other things (like your starter) don't have to. The bad thing is that the header wrap can trap moisture and rust your headers out prematurely.
Euro
Here are another option for headers. I've never heard of em til just now, but it seems like they're pretty sweet for $300!!!!!!! Here's the link for them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370082485308 And here's the CGP thread where everybody's been talking about them. Too bad I don't have $$ to spend on headers!!!!! http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.asp?m=4545469&p=1&mpage=1&tmode=1&smode=1&key=&language=

XS Power is a cheap ass Chinese company. Well, the Chinese made garbage is sold under the XS Power name. Do yourself a favor and buy something from an American company man. Dont be a cheapass, you get what you pay for. All the XS Power products are doing is hurting American companies, not to mention XS Power rips off their designs from other companies
