1tinindian
I have been thinking of using this size when I get my wheels polished and wanted to hear opinions and comments about thier use on these wheel. From what I have found out already, is that they are only 1 MPH slower at 60, and I have compared them side by side with the 225/60/16, and I like the extra width. So tell me what you think! Other way around according to 1010tires.com... when your speedo says 60 you will be doing 61 Now if you went to a 235/60 THEN you would be looking at it being slower than the speedo says, when the speedo says 60mph you would be doing read 58.9 Those would be a 6.5" wide rim, right? If so they are just on the boarder line of being ok for that rim. a 235 tire is "meant" for 6.5-8.5 inch wide rims. What tires did you have in mind?? 1tinindian
This is where I get my MPH info. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Regardless, a 1 MPH difference will not be noticable. My 5 spokes are 16x7. And I haven't decided on any brand, yet.

Andrew
you arent go to notice any advantage to going to a 10mm wider tire. that said, if they are a few bucks cheaper per tire in that size, heck why not.
dbtk2
Other than the slight difference in speedo readings, you wont have any issues running that size tire on that wheel. I ran 255/50's on mine for a while, and currently im running 245/50's and i've had zero problems.

Brian P
I have them, and honestly I wouldn't recommend them. They are the EXTREME width limit for a 6.5" rim. The sidewall is tall and bulges out too much. The best tire size I have used, bar none, are 225/55/16. The sidewall is an excellent height size and they fit much better. 55trucker
Shouldn't be any sort of problem at all Leon.....I originally had my 235-55/16's on similar 7" wheels before remounting them onto my current 8" wide wheels. (here's a photo of them Steve

Robby1870
I've been running 235/55s on 6.5 wide rims for like 3 or 4 years now with no problems. Like Brian said, they max out the wheel well, which I like.
