SSEiyah93
Ok, this has nothing to do specifically with anything w-body... I just need to know tips on getting a stuck bolt off... I've tried penetrating oil, my bf's dad's air-wrench... Whatever brainless shit bag used to work on my TGP before I got it, did everything so that nobody else could possibly work on it (or so it would seem) he actually did everything so well that it makes things hard... Probably the damn dealer...but the bolt, or nut rather, in question is the ones that need to come off to get the caliper off the rotor... And I have tried with the...what the hell do you call them...the ones that are star shaped... I've tried to get them off too... Any advice would be very appreciated! slick
Whatever the size torx bit onto a 3/8" or 1/2" wrachet. Use like a 5-6' pole. Seriously, you will get soo much more force this way than using an impact wrench. I had to do this with Rachel's Regal. A 450ft-lb impact wouldn't budge the bolt, so I used a 6' fencing pole instead. Broke it right loose. And, to make it easier, turn your wheel, so you can use the breaker bar to it's fullest.
SSEiyah93
Thanks! I was tryin to use as big a wrachet as possible but the car was just up on a jack and stands so I could be TOO forceful with it...
slick
If it's on stands properly, you shouldn't have to worry about anything. Like I said, turn the wheel so you can use full wracheting action.
xtremerevolution
Damn I hate that bolt. Should be a T-60 torx bit. It's a royal pain in the you know what to get that bolt of. Its literally impossible without a breaker bar or long ass pole.

shyguy164
Are we talking the caliper bolts or the rotor bracket bolts? If it's the rotor bracket, use heat.
Night Fury
Are we talking the caliper bolts or the rotor bracket bolts? If it's the rotor bracket, use heat. Broke three sockets, two ratchets, and almost autozones air gun for my caliper bolts!!
SSEiyah93
It sounds like I should just take it to a shop where if they break something it's their fault...fuckin' bolts! Nuts...whatever the hell they are...
Brian P
heat up the bracket near the bolt with a propane soldering torch and try again.

Broke three sockets, two ratchets, and almost autozones air gun for my caliper bolts!! That's why I bought an Ampro T60 bit with a nice breaker bar to match it. That Ampro breaker bar is my new best friend.
