Is there an intake gasket issue on S-1 motors?

Hi,

I just r/r my intake gasket and it wasnt leaking. So was wondering after all my reading, is it just the later (s-2) units that have a gasket problem? Or is the S-1 prone to an upper leak, and is Felpro gasket ok to use?

High mileage Series I's tend to have LOWER intake and headgasket leaks...........but usually only at 150+ K miles.

 

Series II's (especially the 95-00 years) have the biggest intake issues (usually the upper leaks, but it can often be from the older style lower intake's EGR tube).

I know 90-94 engines kinda have seepage when up in miles like said before, but definitely not as bad as 95 +.
