Q-Ball Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 It looks so tight in there, do I need to remove the alt to make the job easier? On my service manual it doesnt say to remove it, but it's shows it is removed. I dont know if it was just easier to show the routing. Quote
1990lumina Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 You can get them with ohut removing the alternator. Just do it one at the time. The plastic shit they are in with probably break all apart when you pull it open to get the wires out - mine did lol. Quote
per0781 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 the wire conduit becomes brittle over time due to the heat from the engine. Quote
Q-Ball Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 I tried removing one at a time, and it got stuck. So, I just ran the wires up and beside the alt for now. I needed it running for work tomorrow. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Its not too hard to pull the alt (like 15 mins tops) and access is much easier with it out. Quote
1990lumina Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 I just crank the motor right to the rad support (actually on my 90, the rad overflow is there so I crank it up to that and start crushing it). Blown lower mounts help though lol Quote
