supreme_style21 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 76,000 on the '94 180,000 on the '89 Quote
Redfox340 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Wasn't on a 3.1L, but same engine design: * 1988 Celebrity station-wagon w/ 2.8L MPFI - 156K (currently) * 1989 Beretta GT coupe w/ 2.8L MPFI - 189K (body wrecked - motor strong) The pushrod will last FOREVER if you take any care of it what so ever. It's one of those engine that has to be abused to crap out on you. - Erik Quote
AWeb80 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 99,4xx, still runs great. New Head gasket at 77,xxx. Doesn't use one drop of oil in 3,000 miles, that's when I change my oil. Quote
blugp96 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 112,000 3100 No leaks at all, runs better than a new one. Oil changed every 3,000 Quote
92turboLE Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 224,XXX on my 92 3.1 with no rebuilds - runs like a champ - Justin Quote
cutlassdude96 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 74,300+ only problem with it were intake gaskets replace 2yrs ago and over do for an oil change Quote
runt Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 94,447 on the 96 Cutlass with 3100...I'm bad tho, oil is usually changed about every 5k. I can't afford to do otherwise (I know it's not THAT much, but every penny counts) cuz of being a wonderful college student. Quote
stu64 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 36,000 on a '95 GP, the 3100 runs like new Quote
1990 Lumnia Euro Coupe Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 153,000 On The Lumina. Runs Like a champ, uses no oil. I just bought it a couple of months ago, so only one oil change so far. 124,000 On the 1991 Grand Prix Same story, oil changed every 3,000 miles. The 3.1 is a near indestructable engine. I've heard that if you take care of them, they will run forever. You can't beat 153,000 and not a drop of oil used. I've seen them doing the same way 200,000 plus miles. I'll keep my two, thank you. vdaily89 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 98,000 on a 94 3100V6. Wife's car and it is doing well even though it uses some oil and has a nice "ticking" where she drove it with the low oil light on for a few days before telling me.... Quote
1990 Lumina Euro Coupe Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 124,000 On my 1991 Grand Prix 152,000 On my 1990 Lumina Euro Oil changed at 3,000 on Pontiac. I changed the oil when I first bought the Lumina and have not put 3,000 more on it. Both never use a drop of oil. Both run like a top. 3.1's have cajones the size of the Liberty Bell when it comes to longevity. I've heard plenty of people say that you can't wear them out if they are maintained properly. I'll sit on my two and see if I can milk 300 + out of them sometime in my lifetime. Quote
timbit_69 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 i have 240 000 Kms on mine and its only a 95 (Police package) For some reasion they kept the 3100 in it. Its not an interceptor. i found out it was a daliy driver for one of the top detctives in Toronto. i am getting my hands on the SC 3800 very very soon.... Quote
airbe5car Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 96k on the cutlass, runs beautifully so far.... Quote
sl3196 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 127k on my cutlass runs very good. Had to replace intake gasket, water pump, thermostat. (The dumbass who had it before me decided it was a good idea to mix Dexcool and the green shit.) Quote
