jmoore4294
Delco, gates, or stant? Just put in a new radiator and water pump, time for a new thermostat.

digitaloutsider
Stant makes the Delco thermostats.
jmoore4294
So, you're really just paying 3 or 4 extra bucks for the delco name? That...kinda sucks.
spiderw31
I dunno if any one in particular is better, but I always use stant, and never have had problems.
sl3196
Never had a problem with stant either. I always use the superstat by them, I think they cost a few bucks more then the regular ones.

Gates does the same thing, they'll have the part number and then they'll have an S at the end for the "good" ones. If you look at each one you can see that the cheap ones are made of a cheap metal (galvanized I think) and the good ones are made with stainless steel. There is a difference in price but definitely not worth the risk, I have had a couple of the cheap ones fail.
5speedz34
Bottom line with parts is just make sure you buy a good brand name and don't go cheap.
jmoore4294
Well yeah. That's why I'm asking. The more expensive one is delco, but if stant makes delco, then I can just get a superstat from them. I was just wondering cause I know some people know parts better than I do. 5speedz34
Stant is a good one. That's who I would go with.
