phantomFE3 Posted August 7, 2003 Report Share Posted August 7, 2003 hey im just looking at what kind of lift/duration the stock cam has in the 3.1. if noone buys my phantom by the time i sell my lawn mower, im keeping it, painting it and putting a new motor in it. one of the things i would put in the new motor would be the biggest cam possible. and of course i would replace the bearings & rings, i dont know about pistons unless i get the motor from the junkyard and its completely tore up inside. anything else i should look at to get it back to 'like new' condition? im going for a NA 3.1 and i want to boost the compression as much as possible by not spending the most money, ill only have 1000 to work with minus 350 for the motor itself. a cam from GMpartdirect.com is like 130 bucks for the off road high performance one rings and bearings shouldnt be TOO epensive? should they? any other suggestions for power? heres a list of what im NOT going to do, just to save you the effort of saying it: NOT going to swap the heads/intake from a 3100 NOT going to put a TGP engine in it NOT going to squeeze juice (nos) NOT going to spend more money than i have to! so? anyone got the stock cam specs for a 3.1? and any reasonable suggestions are welcome Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
