rockfangd Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 on my 94 cutlass the seal around the back window appears to be drying out and it is coming away from the back window, is this something i may have to worry about and if so where can i get the seal? mra32 Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 This happened on my lumina many years ago. I havent fixed it. Mine seems to be a plastic molded piece that fits in. I suppose that as it degrades, it shrinks. I dont think I have any leaks resulting from that. but i was considering fixing it. A heat gun and a rubber mallet was my first Idea. If that doesnt work, then I'd wanna just cut it so i can fit it back in without stretching it and filling the area with black silicone or something. 91LuminaEuro Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 A year or two ago my rear window leaked and that piece on my lumina was broken because the previous owner tried to fix it and snapped it off. Anywho, when the window guy came he replaced that piece as well, so maybe call your local glass replacement specialist and see what they can do! LuminaPower92 Posted July 28, 2008 Report Share Posted July 28, 2008 This happened a while agop to my white Lumi, I had them pull the window reseal it, and install a new molding from the dealer. It came back, but when it was in the body shop, they fixed it for free, i dont know how but its fixed. I got to get my euro done, its doing the same thing.
