Drummer Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 how exactly do i do it? Do i need a media player like I tunes or something? I put music on it and it said it was reading the format, but then it said that there was no audio, but i did the same thing on my thumb drive and it worked fine. If anyone could chime in that would be great!! Quote
jmoore4294 Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 How big is the drive? Is it formated in NTFS? You might need to convert it to a FAT32 partition like I had to do to get my external drive to work with my xbox 360. Quote
Drummer Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 And i dont think i can convert it to FAT32, I could be wrong. Quote
jmoore4294 Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 You can. With Partition Magic. That's how I converted mine. BUT....you would have to buy the program or find it on torrents. You basically need full access to the program that the free downloads don't offer. Quote
Drummer Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 ok just downloaded it and reformatted it and it works like a charm now. Thanks. Quote
mra32 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 I have the pioneer 5000UB and use it with a 60 gig 1.8" bus powered drive. The software on it is a little wonky. I can only have 500 folders total and it doesnt seem to like sorting them alphabetically. Do you see this too? Quote
Drummer Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 I think my usb is 2.0 and so far everything is alphabetical, i only have 2 gigs so far as I'm still downloading albums Can't wait to have no more cds Quote
mra32 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 WTF. I'm gonna call pioneer and whine at them and see if there is anything i can do to make mine easier to use. Quote
Timm Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 Also, for the record, windows has a disk formater built in. In My Computer, just right click on the drive then go down to format. Idk about MACs. Quote

Idk about MACs. True but you can't go back to FAT 32, it will only let you do ntfs. MAC computers will let you go either way or so i was told. Quote
