how to bed new pads/rotors?

this week i'm replacing/upgrading the brakes on my Regal GS. i went with Bendix rotors (advertised as being made in USA or Canada fwiw) and Performance Friction carbon metallic pads. i'm doing all four corners and the front will now have the 12" rotors (got brackets from a 2000 Impala in the j/y).

is there a proper way to "bed" the pads or should i just drive it normally after i get done?

thanks

I've always taken the car out for a drive, brought it up to speed and got on the brakes hard a couple times without bringing the car to a stop. I remember reading somewhere that you can cause damage to the pads/rotors if you come to a stop when you're bedding the brakes.

Nice choice on brakes. That's what I had before I went with my R1's.

What I do is just a few 30-40mph stops, not hard...not soft, but constant. Then I get up to 50-55 and brake again, but don't come to a complete stop. Then drive for a bit to let the brakes cool, then do it another time or two.
