Fleeingpepper Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 So just wondering, not like I wanna do anything but.. How much weight can our anti-roll bars hold? Olds explicitly states that it is NOT a roll bar. So how much weight may it be able to hold. Quote
arizlang Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 I'm just guessing but I don't think it would hold the weight of the passengers. If you have ever looked at it without all the covers, it's not much there, you could almost bend it by hand. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 Mine held a potato cannon once, but that was just PVC........ Quote
Crazy K Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 It is stronger than it seems. I bashed at one with an 8 pound(?) sledge and only deflected it 1/2 inch... and this was on the 94 vert.... granted, it was bent cause the the car was wrecked. Quote
Psych0matt Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 I'd bet it could hold 150 or 200 pounds decently, probably not too much more Quote
GutlassSupreme Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 The ONLY thing it should be used for to hold up, is your girl/wife while shes bent over it facing the front of the car...thats about it. Quote
Fleeingpepper Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 Well no fat chicks, but it held me! Me and my whole 120 pounds. Quote
Crazy K Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Well no fat chicks, but it held me! Me and my whole 120 pounds. lol!!!! ACTUALLY... I think the hoop could take maybe 500+ pounds, but you would break the cover LONG before that. It is actually pretty strong but not strong enough to be a true Rollbar. Quote
