L67 - Cost to change plugs and how to?

I've never touched anything under the hood of a L67. Today this lady was making some conversation waiting for her friend at the Shoppers, and my brother says, oh nice car, she's like oh, its a GTP. And my brother said, oh dont get my brother started on those, he has one. But ofcourse mine is a 92 gtp 5 speed. She than later asked if I knew how to change spark plugs. I said yes, since I have done it in my car and my gf's neon and my dads chev truck. So, she wants me to come over this weekend to do it. She has know idea what to give me, I said maybe charge 5 bucks per plug? She didnt even know how many spark plugs are in the car. My brother said I should of said 42.

So, basically I want to know how to do it. Is there anything different? Do I need to rock the engine forward? I'll be sure to mark the wires so I know where they have to go back.

Oh, and what does someone recommend for brand wise on plugs?

Thanks!

I like autolite. some will disagree. i doubt anyone will disagree on NOT using ANY kind of bosch plug. you should be fine with delcos.

the rear plus are sort of a pain, but theyre not that bad, and you wont need to rock the motor or remove anything. i would however highly recommend:

a) a flex head ratchet

B) decent variety of different length extensions

3) spark plug boot grabbing tool (to prevent separating the wire from the boot since the boot will probably be very snug and baked on and ur in a tight area.

otherwise straightforward. i bet it can be done faster on a 3.8 than on ur wonderful dohc

i disagree, i think the 3.4 is way easier to change the plugs on than the l67, you just have to have done it a few times.

Ok thanks guys. I was just looking at a pic of the L67, after I take the cover off, where all the plugs? I was trying to follow the wires, but i cant find any good clear pictures.

It goes that way for anything, if you've done it a few times its not hard to do. I can change plugs in my "l67" in less than 5 minutes.

You don't even have to take the cover off, although it may be easier to get to the rears that way. Its not DOHC so the plugs are on the "side" of the head. So they are in between the exhaust runners on the exhaust manifolds.
