3.4 DOHC wont run

In my 93 Lumina Z34 withthe 3.4L auto tranny, it starts but stalls out after running a few minutes, or when I change from Drive to another gear it will stall out. Went to scan it but the port under the dash is gone for some reason. Also for the past few weeks everytime I would go down a hill with my foot off of the gas the SES light would come on. Any ideas?

try checking your vacuum lines... and check out your catalytic converter, could be time to change it....

Sounds like a related EGR problem; especially if when you release the gas pedal.

Pull it and double check all openings and wiring connections.

Also, you should really find the dignostic port... it'll save you so much time when you do.

I'm willing to be it's under there, probably moved or kicked by accident.

Yeah, my vote is your EGR is staying in the open position. When you let off the gas pedal the EGR should go to the closed position. So, when your idling, its letting Exhaust gasses in, causing it to stumble and die. That what I think anyway
