GP4U2NV Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Ok, I was looking on "fee-bay" and I saw a set of rotors for 92-96 Grand Prix w/ sport suspension. Then I saw a foot note that said that it would fit 10 inch and 11 inch rotors. I know that they changed the suspension/mounts for the calipers in some year. But, now I dont know what was different. I used the computer at work and looked up the struts, caliper mount (slides), caliper and everything. But, the numbers all interchange. The rotors DO NOT tho. What was it that was different from the 1 gen to the 1.5? Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Front strut housings changed when they went to the bigger rotors. Jamie Quote
GP4U2NV Posted July 15, 2008 Author Report Posted July 15, 2008 using the a 93 and a 95 I ran the part numbers for the "knuckle" which is what they call the strut. It has matching part numbers. I guess I am going to have to call part tech Quote
BIGBULS Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 96 was the first year with the new knuckle, although SOME late 95's may have also got it. Basically, the strut sets the caliper out further to clear the larger rotors, and there are also larger pads to account for the greater swept area. Rotors (front) BTW, go from 10.5 X 1.0 inch to 11.25 X 1.0 inch. Quote
