gmrulz4u Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 I remember about a year ago, when my old mechanic was trying to figure out what was wrong with my 89 Supreme, he suggested that I change, also referred to as 'upgrade' my EPROM/MemCal. So, assuming he knew what he was talking about, I said sure. It cost me like $70 or something. But I still have my old one. And I was just wondering if this made sense for me to do?? Does GM constantly update/upgrade their EPROM/MemCal's?? Even on 13 year old cars/engines?? THANKS:) Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 If it's an 89 2.8L, I'm only aware of one update, and that supposedly was to fix the fuel consumption reading on the trip computer. I replaced mine with the update, and the trip computer's still not accurate! On an '88, there's a speed density update that's supposed to improve drivabillity. Quote
