mediabandit
you do have to cut it out and weld in a piece to replace it. now i know here most of the shops will not do it on older cars because the price of the job is usually worth more then the car. so good luck and i hope you get it all sorted out. 5speedz34
Is this the rear strut on a MC? The only to fix it is cutting a ton out and having a new panel welded in. Otherwise i wouldn't worry about it, its probably not huring the structure.

Venom
Yeah the only proper way would be a cut and weld.
rockfangd
basically from the front of the tower to the rear of the tower it is all rotted, everything but what you can clearly see from the trunk. It has a stress crack on the right rear strut tower and it is not even very rusted in the area where is cracked. I told him i do not know of a way to fix that kind of problem so i told him to post here
BXX
scrapyard...... If the tower is that rotted, I would hate to see the rest of the car.. Sorry about your luck, but for safety's sake, you should turn it into a parts car.. Even a good welder and fabricator would tell you you could buy a non rotted one for less that what it will cost to fix that..
rockfangd
well the worst thing is that is the worst part of the car. the rest besides some surface rust in in prety good shape

GutlessSupreme
Bring it a local body shop and get a professional opinion and a quote. It looks like it's compromising the structure now, but even if it's not, it will be soon enough.
GnatGoSplat
That's a rather significant safety issue. I would consider that car a total loss.

You better get a quote fast before you drive through some huge pothole by accident and shit hits the fan.
