sonick
So I just wanted to get clarification before I go ahead with changing my transmission mount. Sounds pretty simple from reading; this is how I understand it to work - Jack up the car, hold up with jackstands - unbolt the two bolts connecting tranny to mount. - jack up tranny - pull out old one, stick in new one - lower tranny, bolt back on, lower car. Just wanted to clarify the procedure, and to find out where exactly I should jack up the transmission from. Can I just do it from the transmission pan but with a peice of wood between the jack and the pan so it doesn't dent? Thanks
GutlessSupreme
yea that'll be fine, I mean it's not ideal but without an engine lift there's not much else you can do. Use a short piece of a 2x4. A piece of plywood might distribute the weight better across the whole pan, but it might flex too much if it's too thin.
