95 vert Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Got a cordless drill? Take your lid and broken hinge, put them together and run a wood screw approx one and a half inches long thru both from the rear of the lid. I've done this to several cars and it works great. Unless your looking for perfection, this should suffice. Quote

95 vert Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 I think this is a cleaner repair and it works just as well. Quote
Brian P Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 It should work good too, but you're at the mercy of those threads holding onto the thin plastic. I have tried that method and it wasn't as strong as the way I do it now. Quote
Brian P Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I like the stealth-look though. I did one more repair on another lid using screws with domed heads (the writeup I did I just used screws I had laying around) and used shrink wrap to hide the visible parts of them. I even thought about filling up the void entirely with liquid resin once the screws were in place, but that may be excessive Quote
