dohc v6
I brought my car to the dealership to get an oil pan gasket replaced. I guess when we rebuilt the motor it was not sealing 100%. SO I pick my car up last night look underneath the car and notice oil, like alot of oil on the battery tray, now where the intercoler hoses are. So i called the dealership and they said that the drainline for the turbo came off when the guy was test driving the car. How long cant the line be off before it messes the turbo or even the motor off. There is oil even on my back wheels. I think I need a new turbo. My guy at the dealership the guy that writes up the car, he is pretty cool and says that if its bad to just let him know. I think I might just tell him I need a new turbo cause there is alot of shaft play. I just spent 600 rebuilding this thing. M
per0781
how long did he test drive the car?
GOT2B GM
How low was your oil level after the test drive? Is your turbo ball bearing or bronze bushing?
dohc v6
Its a sleeve bearing. I am going up to have a meeting with him and the technician and the manager. I don't know how long he drove it for or how hard. But I checked the shafts, its fucked, theres oil on my back wheels. I just hope the motor is ok. This could turn into a nightmare. intern8tion9l
seriously one of the main reasons i don't bring my car anywhere to get worked on is cause i don't want anyone else sitting in it/driving it. cause you know once they figure out what's under the hood they will want to go play with it and beat the shit out of it. i hope you get some good info out of the douche that test drove it, and see what you can get out of it
AWeb80
yikes I always check the mileage on my car before it goes ANYWHERE..... if there is any sort of unnecessary miles, I would confront them.....
Euro
wow that's shitty dude!!! Are you friends/acquaintances with the guy at the dealer? I wouldn't think that the dealer would mess with such a modded car. But I'm not positive. And, are you saying there is oil on your rear wheels, or on the backs of your front wheels? I couldn't understand that part.
dohc v6
He is a good guy, I dont hang out with him but he knows me very well. There is oil on the back wheels as well as the front wheels. There is oil everywhere. But when I went up there today, he showed me the oil trail, I will take pics tomorrow. It happened as he was finishing his test drive, but yeah I am fuckin pissed, they better make me happy tomorrow. M

J
i'd make it a point to let them know how unhappy you are without getting pissed off.....YET. If tey don't fix things to your standards, i'd bu a new turbo and send them the bill. Hope it all works out, i'd be livid
dohc v6
Picked the car up yesterday. They cleaned the car and the guy told me that all the techs looked at it and the motor and turbo was fine. I know the turbo is shot and I told him so. He told me to get it replaced and they will reimburse. Also if the engine goes, they will fix it. All good M

RareGMFan
I don't care how well you know the guy, you will quickly learn when an issue dealing with large sums of money arises, you HAVE no friends. Get that in writing immediately, and have it signed by him so that he can't back out of it later. Better safe than sorry.
