What's the highest mileage DOHC you have seen? I have seen ONE car, a '93 CSC IIRC, with about 190,000 miles, this was a while ago, I don't remember if it needed work or not. I don't look at GP's online, and they are much more common with the LQ1 so maybe you GP guys could beat me at my own game.

umm I've seen them with well over 300,000 kms. My Z has 270,000 kms and still runs well.

Gus's Mach5 95 GTP has LOTS of miles

....but he has disappeared from CGP lately.....

Alright, I did the conversion...

300,000 kilometers is about 186,411 miles.

270,000 kilometers is roughly 167,770 miles.

315,000 kilometers is close to 195,731 miles

Looks like ya got me beat Media.

Mine has a little over 72,900 miles so she should have another 100,000 miles left in her.

I know z34_nut's old Z had well over 200k on the clock.

As did my old Z34 - 210k+ on that one.

i have no complaints about the durability of these LQ1's.

I've seen a few in the salvage auctions with 250K+ miles.

Alright, I made a poll, thanks to Media for the tech help. Please only vote if you own an LQ1, TIA!

depends on which LQ1...the highest?

Just thinking if you have more than one, you can only vote once. No biggie.

Sure, we'll go with the higher mileage one. I envy anyone who has two, I just try not to think about them so that's why I didn't think about that.

i will vote for my old Z, as it had 151k miles on it when i traded it in, and it was still running strong

my z34 presently has 192,000 mi on it still runs like a top biggest repairs it has seen since i got it at 98,000 was a timing belt, alternator, and i think a set of intake gaskets, very trouble free car.

Posted

Wow, the timing belt wasn't changed at or before the factory recommended 70,000 mile interval?

Posted

well I got the car at about 98,000. according to the last owner the belt was "newer" (whatever that means) when i got the car, I ran it to about 169,000 when the timing belt tensioner broke, then I replaced everything. so no matter how you cut it when it failed I was at minimum 12,000 miles overdue for a change.

Mine will cross over 225,000km by the end of the week. Thats over 139,000. It had about 183,000km (113,710 miles) on it when I bought it in Oct of 2005.
