alphagtp
what size of belt does it takes when using that pulley? and how do I change the pulley?? I finally found one, waiting to get it in the mail !!!
Andrew
changing the pulley is really straight forward. as for the belt, man i cant remember. its either a 1" shorter belt or the same belt and the tensioner picks up the slack.
GutlessSupreme
Yea, pretty sure the FFP website called for a belt that's 1" shorter. Not sure what the stock size is, just go to a parts store and ask and get the next lowest. You need a 3-jaw or 3-bolt pulley to get the old pulley off. You'll also need a sealant to put in the keyhole (you'll see where I mean).
GOT2B GM
LQ1 crank pulley is easy to swap. Theres one large bolt in the center and 3 smaller bolts surrounding it. The pulley actually bolts to the harmonic balancer vs the 3.1 & 3x00 where its one piece. No key obviously. Use a 1" shorter belt.
intern8tion9l
mine is 1.5" shorter and still fits good. just incase there was a question

GutlessSupreme
hmm. I wish I could see how the 3.4 was setup. you could try having a buddy hold the brakes while you try and crack it loose, so that the engine won't turn over (tranny in park, obviously). z34Phoenix
the way i did mine is: remove the fly wheel access cover on the trany its like one 10mm bolt holding a small plastic cover between the enigne and trany. then use a pair of vise grips to tightly clamp the flywheel... then you can turn that crank and the vise grips will hold the flywheel keeping the crank from turning.
