Regal_GS_1989 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Share Posted June 3, 2008 Alright, First question, How hard is it to change a power steering pump on an LX5 intrigue? I took the car for a test drive today, and when I brought it back, there is very little power assist at idle, but if you rev it up a bit, the assist comes back. Also, when you try to turn the wheel at idle, the PS pump appears to chatter. Second, Do some of the earlier LX5's have issues with piston slap or issues with the wrist pins? I am asking because I am looking at a 99 intrigue and when its idling, there appears to be a very slight noise, almost like that of piston slap, but when you rev it up past about 1100 RPM, the noise is completely gone.
