sonyman87
i had a friend drive like 50 miles pulling a boat in his ford ranger with the ebrake on.. he cracked the roters and breakpads. i would assume your breaks are F***ed up. RomeoZ34
You just like to have fun?? Why don't you go do some heroin and see how fun that is? Rediculously stupid.
CPSMonteZ34
Insults aside, the heat may have contributed to increased wear on all the moving parts to the wheel. I would consider re-greasing the wheel bearings and checking the seals to your caliper cylinders. If your brakes aren't shuddering when you apply them, your rotors are probably okay. If that's the case, all you really would have done is severely wear out the pad-life. Consider yourself lucky if this is all you have to do. Brian P
re-grease the wheel bearings, what do you drive a '78 Ford granada?
cpa5oh
Make sure the pads aren't glazed over and check that you didn't melt the dust seal.
Robby1870
and then when you make sure your brakes are good, get ready to make sure the tranny hasnt blown up on you, like it should have when you were doing that dumb stuff Robby
Justin
Yeah as if there's a W out there where the e-brakes work worth a damn... Probably why you didn't notice them on, wasn't enough drag to really bog the car down.
CPSMonteZ34
re-grease the wheel bearings, what do you drive a '78 Ford granada? Heh, no, but my sister seized a wheel on her Euro after the brakes were redone. Apparently the grease didn't withstand the temp and the wheel and hub were bonded in Holy Matrimony. god910
So do the E-brakes just really suck that bad? I replace my rear brakes (calipers, rotors, yada yada) I figured I just adjusted them wrong. Mine don't grab very hard. I have been debating whether when you adj. the rear brakes (pumping and releasing the e-brake) do you do it w/ the pedal pushed down or w/ your foot off the pedal? I never thought to ask. Does it matter?

Yeah, but our bearings are sealed! Unless she's got some aftermarket one on there, and even the AEM ones Ive seen are sealed
GnatGoSplat
If it still runs and drives without any noticeable new problems, it's fine. The rear brakes suck anyway. The rear p-brake is supposed to be self-adjusting, but I noticed when I did the brakes on the '88, it didn't really self-adjust worth a damn. I had to unhook the p-brake lever from the caliper and adjust that stud, then put the lever back on it. That made it hold perfectly.

Unless she's got some aftermarket one on there, and even the AEM ones Ive seen are sealed Well, that's news to me. I've never had to attempt getting into a hub of a W. She said her repair was somewhat expensive due to labor, I might understand why now seeing as her wheel was seized. I've only dealt with rear drum bearings on 4x4's and my ol' Escort and such. What a fricken' messy job always ends up being.
