kaptnjack
I was having the same problem when I bought mine. This is what I discovered. On mine...the rubber liner that lines the rear channel/track that the window rides in was torn at or about 3/4 the way down. when I tried to let the window down it would catch on the loose torn rubber and stop unless I manually "helped" it. Raise the window all the way, open the door and remove the black plastic vent. You can use a flashlight and look staright into the cavity and see the rail/track to see if you have the same problem. If so...you can reach in the vent hole and cut or otherwise remove the damaged section of rubber. On ly remove the damaged section and as little as possible leaving as much of the strip as you can to prevent windo rattle. On mine...after I removed the bad rubber section...the window still made a little clicking noise when let down to the point where the rubber was removed. I assumed this is from a raised "lip/edge" of the metal liner used to give the rubber some rigidity and longevity. I used a long screwdriver, reached in through the vent hole and used the wide screwdriver blade inserted into the track to straighten/flatten any raised/damaged edges of the metal rib left behind by the removal of the damaged rubber. Window works perfectly smooth and quiet now.
