Crazy K
Im looking for a higher stall converter around 2000-25000 but cant seem to figure out how to get my hands on such an item. I have read that some people have them, my question is where can I get one? what year is your car? info I have on hand says stall speed: 1991-1993 3.4 tranny : 2095 1994 3.4 tranny : 2060 I was about to post about lowering stall speed, since a 1994-1995 A body (with 3100) got a 1630 stall speed converter... and how it would affect any of a 3.4, 3.1, or a 3100 that has a 2000 range converter. mihela816
4 cylinder cars with a 3 speed had a higher stall, like the 2.5 or a quad 4. I think it was around 2700.
BIGBULS
Be aware that the listed stall speeds for each convertor are NOT what you'll actually see in the real world. Usually, your actual stall will be 30-40% higher than listed. For example, 94-96 3100 L Body cars get a "1400rpm" convertor, but actual stall is in the 1900-2050rpm range (it varies slightly from car to car). Likewaise, a 3100 W-Car will usually rev to 2600-2800rpm at full stall, but I think they are listed at 2095rpm or somesuch. Just be aware that ENGINE TORQUE affects listed stall rpm.
