gp90se
as the subject says, whats involved with making 1 work on a gas motor? -Jeff
mfewtrail
if you're just talking turbo, nothing!!!! except a few odds and ends w/ water/oil lines(that you'll need to sort out w/ any turbo) or depending upon wastegate setup and whatnot(I have not researched any turbo's that come on diesels, so I don't know if most are internally wastegated, externally wastegated, or not wastegated at all??..some are better than others, maybe as far as adjustability is concerned)......anyways, the all work based on the same principle = exhaust flow, I've seen volvo guys slap huge ass turbos off of various diesel trucks w/ basically no modification except a custom manifold and or mounting flange coupled w/ a larger diameter downpipe to match the turbo and a larger diameter intake plumbing to the turbo to match as well.....anyways, hopefully someone else can go into more detail as I'm not that keen on turbochargers. I need to read more and quit being a bum
brian89gp
A turbo is a turbo, only thing is making sure it is suitably sized. Gas vs gas it is easy to compare, just match head design (2 or 4 valve) and displacement. Deisel vs gas is a whole different story.
god910
I am (In the not so near future) using a Garrett from a Cummins 5.9L turbo for the TGP. I can get them nasty cheap from the guys that want to upgrade. Just remember, when you get a turbo that is too big. Use Nitrous.
