gmrulz4u
If I were to purchase a new or used Cutlass Supreme Digital Dash(cluster), how would I, or could I even, change the mileage?? THANKS:o)
GnatGoSplat
I don't think you can, but someone with the proper equipment could. I believe that's what that little diagnostic connector on the back of the cluster is for.

Lee
With no power, how does the cluster keep the milage? Mine's been out of a car for a long time.
MaD
I think it's kinda like a flash-memory type thing, where it writes it to the memory but it doesn't require current to hold the memory, once stored, it's there until it's changed... ...at least that's my understanding. -MaD-
GnatGoSplat
Yep, that's correct.
JPaganel
Well, if it really is flash memory, shouldn't it be possible to switch chips between clusters? Anyone got a cluster not installed they can look at?
GnatGoSplat
Yeah, but which chip is it? The chips I've seen are masked. Also, if you're switching between base and gauges clusters, they most likely use different chips. The gauges cluster is made by Nippon Denso, the base cluster is made by AC Delco. That's why they have different pinouts.
