CSI_MuNkY Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 This past weekend I washed the car and I have noticed some issues ever since. My ABS and parking brake lights are on almost all the time now, the parking brake light only seems to come on when its wet outside. And I have a tick coming from the pass. rear wheel. This tick is happening more than once per revolution, so its not a stone in the tire. I have checked the ABS plugs, they are both in place securely. They were my first thought as I forgot to plug one in after doing the bearings and the ABS light was on then. (that was a little over a week ago, plugged it in and the light never came on again till I washed the car) What, if anything, could explain this tick AND the ABS light being on? Bearings are SKF, so its not a case of me buying cheap Chinese garbage. Jamie Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 What about the tick in the glovebox? I give up on that one, I'm more concerned with the one that sees to be linked to my ABS light being on... Jamie Quote
CSI_MuNkY Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 Do you have any codes coming up? OBD 1.5 I have no scanner... I just want to know what could cause a tick and the ABS light... maybe this weekend I will take that wheel off and see if the pads were re-installed right, could be a loose clip or something, but I don't see why that would cause the ABS and parking brake lights to come on. GOT2B GM Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 He brought it over yesterday, I looked at it, and the RF caliper mounting bracket was loose. Kinda funny watching 130 lb Jamie torque the bolts to 145 ft/lbs. Quote
EviLette Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 He brought it over yesterday, I looked at it, and the RF caliper mounting bracket was loose. Kinda funny watching 130 lb Jamie torque the bolts to 145 ft/lbs. It's even more funny to watch 120 lb me break loose ANY bolt. On more than one occasion, i've had to balance on the four way and bounce up and down to get the damn lugnut to break loose. Now THAT's comical! Quote
BXX Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Wow, makes me glad I am 260lbs worth of American Moo No bolt has evah beaten me and my trust breaker bar Quote
EviLette Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 I've been so mad I'm damn near crying, screaming at the bolt to break loose ... laying on the ground and pulling so hard on the breaker bar or whatever i'm using for leverage that I'm doing more to drag myself across the ground than I am to break loose the nut. Hence the reason I had to have my brakes professionally done. I encounter too many bolts that I'm just flat out NOT strong enough to break... and I don't have the assistance of air tools of any kind... makes me sad. Quote
