 just about everytime (cold or hot) when i crank my car it makes a puh puh puh sound as it idles up (sound is rapid) and is it idles back down (sound slow down) and reach idling it goes away,

also if i rev the engine up to 3000 rpm i here a sounds like tapping noise coming from the rear part of the engine driver side.

any suggestions, thoughts, ever had this happen before?

Those are very vague desciptions, you need to be more precise, it could be a misplaced plug wire, vacuum leak, ect. Does it do it when its cold, or hot. Does it idle smooth? Does it burn any oil? Does it still have a good amount of power?

i'll try to be precise as i possibly can. i have a complete tune-up. cold or hot it does it. idles smooth. burns about a quart oil in 3 weeks, also the puh puh puh sound seems to be coming form the rear of the engine. power is decent. lack power around between 50 to 60 mph

Umm, check around all joints, but to me that what it sounds to be. Put your hand around the joints, around the crossover and the cat, dont get close to the cat, its 1500 degrees. If its leaking youll feel it.
