Hairdo12 Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 Can someone please tell me where to find the air pump on a 2000 Grand Prix with the 3.8? Any idea how hard it is to replace? Thanks. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Air as in AIR? As blackbird said, they don't have one. Quote
mfewtrail Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Late model 3800 w/ a air pump is a possibility although I've personally never seen one. I seem to remember looking at some information stating that some of them had air pumps...they would likely be on California cars only if they do exist. I'm not sure why they would even have though as they qualified as "ultra low emissions vehicles" when new. Quote
BXX Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 x2, 3800s never got them.. The 3100 and 3400 California models did however. I have seen numerous, especially a lot of Malibus Quote
Hairdo12 Posted May 2, 2008 Author Report Posted May 2, 2008 The car is throwing a code p0410 - Secondary Air Injection system malfunction. Yes it is an AIR pump . It was replaced once before by the dealership. Guy at the dealership said north eastern cars got the california emissions package. Quote
per0781 Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 delete the AIR pump and delete the codes with it and make a blockoff plate Quote
