Pabz
Finally the snow is gone. anyways with the 3400 in there running on the 3.1 ECM the idle learning isnt easy. but today i followed it to the T (see bold) and it worked like a charm. The 3400 barely starts without having to give it some gas, usually it craps out 30sec to 2mins into the first 5-7min span. Looks like the W-body Gods care to lend a hand! Q18. What is the correct idle re-learn procedure? A18. 1. Reset ECM by pulling ECM fuse (underhood) for a few seconds. 2. With A/C turned off, start car and immediately put it in Drive with your foot on the brake. 3. If the car does not start initially, keep trying WITHOUT putting your foot on the accelerator. 4. Let the car idle in gear for at least 5 and no more than 7 minutes. 5. Shut off the car for 10 seconds. 6. Start engine, place in drive and let idle for 5 minutes. 7. Shut off engine. 8. Idle is learned. courtesy of Shaun

19Cutlass94
nice! did you get a chip burned for that or still running on 3.1?
White93z34
what transmission are you using? a 60-e? or just a 60? if you are using a 60-e I would try using a LQ1/auto chip in it, I have seen some people do this and have good success. and heck it may even work with a regular 4t60

Pabz
PABZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bout time you stopped back in. What's up? Got my first Service Engine Soon light today, prolly the EGR. The 3.1 ECM is running the 3400, lots of pinging/popping during idle sounding like its comming from the intake side, probably running really rich on idle Also found what sounds like lifter tick, but I read this is a common noise for the 3100/3400 engines. What I really need is a good clutch, the clutch I installed is for a 3.1, and it slips way to much. Can anybody give me a website where I can get a proper clutch for the 282.
