Drummer Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 my car has headlights, brake lights, turn signals but no parking lights. I also don't have cluster lights or door lock and unlock lights. I was thinking it could have been caused by my keyless entry because a little while ago my parking lights wouldn't work when i would lock my car, and my chime module quit working also, but just for that. I'm going to check tom. to see whats going on. Would anyone have a guess. Thanks. Quote
j_mezz Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Does it have an alarm installed? That's always my first thought when wacky electrical stuff starts happening. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 First thing is check the fuse, those are all related. Quote

Drummer Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 i checked all my fuses in my glove box and they all check out except for my tail light fuse which confuses me. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Did you put in another fuse? Is the taillight fuse blown? Quote
Drummer Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 yes, i even put a 30 amp fuse and it still blew. Are the parking lights and dash lights wired in with the tail lights? Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Yes, they are...You definitely have a major short... Quote
meltboy1 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 just keep putting bigger fuses in til they stop blowing...lol j/k really don't do that. Quote
jman093 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 If you want to fix it yourself you're going to need a wiring diagram. Find everything on the circuit for that fuse and start unplugging it all until you stop blowing the fuse. That will isolate the part of the circuit causing the problem and you can trace it until you find what's wrong. Quote
Drummer Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 would anyone have a wiring diagram that i could use? Quote
Drummer Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 just keep putting bigger fuses in til they stop blowing...lol If i hated my car that much i would i wounder how much i could get for my car if it caught fire? j/k of course Quote
Venom Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 would anyone have a wiring diagram that i could use? You could always buy a haynes manual that will ahve diagrams or go on AutoZones website they have some wiring diagrams you can print off for specific models. Quote
meltboy1 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 damn I had a link, but I can't find it where you could look that up online... I'll look for it again later Quote
ns87 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Try this also. I kept blowing my brake light/ chime fuse and this fixed it. Look at the brake pedal switch and follow those wires up. Mine was up against a sharp metal edge and chaffed until it shorted out. It would blow the fuse every time I hit the brakes. Quote
Drummer Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 well i figured out the problem. my illumination wire on my radio harness somehow managed to get the electrical tape off of it and touch something, but don't know what. Oh well at least it was simple Quote
rockfangd Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 wow it is funny how something so small could cause such a problem. Quote

Drummer Posted April 30, 2008 Author Report Posted April 30, 2008 although i should just take the wire completely off so that doesn't happen again Quote
