Drummer
would anyone know if it's any easier to change a CPS on a manual than a Auto, or would i still have one hell of a time getting to it? Thanks
ManicMechanic
I would imagine it being quite a bit easier to get to...

patgizz
it's insanely easy on a 5 speed. everything back there is including p/s hoses, rack bolts, downpipe removal, etc... i'd never own another auto w-body again now that i see how much room is there with the 5 speed. White93z34
I'd never own another auto w-body again now that i see how much room is there with the 5 speed. Even changing the oil is (everso) easier with a 5 speed, I'll never go back.
GOT2B GM
yup auto is a bitch, I just did one.
krenzy
yup auto is a bitch, I just did one. CPS on an auto? Not too bad, I've done mine twice on the TGP. Just roll the engine forward, and find the middle spark plug...from that point, keep moving south till you find a frost plug or whatever it is, and the wire for the CPS in directly below that. Granted, you can't SEE a goddamn thing...
GOT2B GM
I'm talking LQ1. I too have done the one on my TGP, its was WAY easier than the LQ1. Did my TGP from the bottom tho. The LQ1 I did through the fender well after removing the alt.
krenzy
My bad. I give you guys credit for owning and maintaining those engines. I've heard nothing but shit about them, but some of you guys on here are proof that if you take care of it, it pays off! Kudos!
GOT2B GM
We're all just suckers for punishment, thats all.
krenzy
LOL read my repair thread on TGPForums...you'll understand punishment...and that was all in under two years. Over $7500 is parts and repairs. Long, cold pole--no lube.
Drummer
My car seems to run smoother with this P.O.S. gone. I'm wondering if one of there cracks affect how the censor works. However it still misses, so i'm gonna seafoam it and see what happens. Thank God for 5 speeds
