RZB1992
I don't know if this is common for w-bodies or not, but I've heard it happening to Auroras before. When I start my Intrigue and start going, once I reach maybe about 5mph, it sounds like the steering or something is making a noise. It lasts about only a second, sounds like rrrrrr (sorry for the "Great" sound affects), and it only does it that one time; doesn't do it at any other time while driving it. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. thanks
rockfangd
hows the fluid, flush possibly. Ac compressor noise?
Euro
Is it like a whining/supercharger-like sound? That's what my PS pump makes when it wants to be a bitch(which is everyday)
RZB1992
thanks for the advice. I checked power steering fluid and that's fine, but I'm prbbly going to try one of those charger cans for my a/c because that doesn't work (I don't know if that has anything to do with the heating & a/c control unit I need to replace); It's not like a high-pitched or squeeky whining sound if that's what you meant, and I'm really not too sure what a supercharger sound sounds like. wish I could put a recording of it on here, but it's weird, it will only do it once every time you start the car and start going. rockfangd
wait does it have the 3.5. I have heard some upper end engine noise on some of them and it sounds pretty loud . Try a screwdriver on top of the front valve cover and see if you hear anything. I think it has to do with the camshaft. I will find out more tomorrow. the noise almost sounds like it is coming from the drive elt area and can be mistaken
RZB1992
I'll try that sometime this week, it's pouring right now so. and yes it's the 3.
IRONDOG442
Your bearings on your ps are starting to groan so either replace the pump if it drives you that nuts or flush the fluid and put in new and bleed it may solve the problem. Its not the engine.
RZB1992
yeah, it's not that it bother me that much, I was just wondering if it was something seriuos or what. I also should check the ps belt, cause when the people put the new engine in, I don't know if they tightened that or not. Â thanks for everyones responses.
