Ported Throttle body?

I am looking at getting the larger ported throttle body from ZZP this summer and i am pretty sure with the larger throttle body that i would need some tunning software to go along with it. first off is that true?

 

But can i buy a PCM from ZZp and have them tune it to having the larger throttle body. Or should i just save and get my own tunning software from HPtunners or DHP? Also i dont have a laptop so i would have to try and find one to use with the software?

For just a ported TB you will not see much if anything from tuning.

I was not sure if i needed the tuner/pcm i just thought i remembered somebody saying with a larger throttle body that i would need to retune my car to it.

 

So i really dont need a tuner if i get a larger throttle body?

I dont see why you would, not changing that much on the car to need any tuning.

Only time a bigger TB will really help at all is under WOT.

I heard that a larger TB, you'll need to tune. Depending on how much bigger you go from stock.

thats what i heard too, i just e-mailed ZZp asking them so i should know by monday if i need a tune or not.

I can't remember what thread I read that in, but it was either on CGP or grandprixforums.

you'll only need a tune if you get their stage 2 TB. stage 1 requires no other mods.

Turbo Tim from ZZp emailed me back and said that for the stage 1 throttle body that there is no tunning necessary.
