Home made air intake

All in all it cost me $76 about 2 hours. It is a 14" K&N cone filter with a 3" outlet attatched to a 3" PVC pipe with a 90 degree bend attatched to a 3" to 2.5" rubber coupling.

According to my calculations, it should add about 1400 extra hp. Seriously though, I realize warm air intakes don't make a ton of extra power and I could realistically hope for 2-3hp but I'm happy just knowing that I have the most obscenely excessive air kit known to man. And it sounds absolutely fuckin ridiculous after 3500rpm. And I mean ridiculous. It was such a satisfying sound, in fact, that was doing laps in the parking lot where I work after everyone left.

Any comments welcome.

you probably lost HP and most definite lost tq....and why such a big ass filter??

To be honest, this isn't a race car, it is my daily driver. I just wanna have a little fun with it... if you wanna look at it critically, omfjesus, I only have 204hp now! I'll lose to all the cars I'd have lost to before anyways! I did it for fun and I had a good time doing it. That is all that really matters... and it still sounds ridiculous when it sucks in air, regardless if I lost power.

dude that thing is freakin awsome, and quite large... lol

Who cares if it doesn't give you the 1400 hp you wanted, as long as it sounds good and you're happy who cares...
