w-bodys_are_the_best Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 I've never seen a cutlass coupe with column shift except a few very early model 88's some friends had, but this is a 96, weird Quote
MonteCarloDude Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 i am not a fan of column shift, but i did not know the late modle cuttys could come with it. Quote
Euro Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Some 2nd Gen GP SE's came with it. I saw one in the staff parking lot yesterday....I then realized that my loaner car could've been way worse Quote
slick Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 IIRC, I've been hearing talk of a lot of Automatic cars going back to column shift. Quote
Venom Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 i am not a fan of column shift, but i did not know the late modle cuttys could come with it. That the first one Ive ever seen. Quote
Addicted2bass Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 We had a teal 94 with column shift in the shop at work the other day. I didnt know they were uncommon. Never really paid that much attention though to be honest. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Seen it! Might convert to it! Do what you guys did to your sister's CS... Quote
Brian P Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Yeah only it'd be reversed. I gotta assume Taylor told u that Quote
Crazy K Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 what? I converted the 95 3n00 car to column shift, but later converted back Quote
w-bodys_are_the_best Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 I guess I don't see the piont unless it's got a bench seat, cause with a column shift and buckets nobody can sit in the middle anyway. Quote
rockfangd Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 lol my 94 has it and most that i see have it. just look for the 60 40 bench and it has it very common Quote
w-bodys_are_the_best Posted April 25, 2008 Author Report Posted April 25, 2008 I've actually seen it in alot of sedans, but not many coupes. I just think if it's going to have column shift it might as well have bucket seats, that's the whole point, it's so the old lady don't have to lean over a console Quote
rockfangd Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 yeah come to think of it i have seen very few 95+ coupes with column shift, but more of the 88-94 Quote
Brian P Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 yeah I'd be doing it for the bench seat. We'll see if I get lucky at a junkyard. I see plenty of blue bench seats but they're normally sedans. Quote
rockfangd Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 roadhead FTW no comment. Too bad the shifter doesnt lock into place lol it tends to get bumped out of drive in those circumstances Quote

rockfangd Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 i like the floor shift because it looks and feels sportier, and i always rest my palm on the shifter lol. but for more room i like my column shift. if my door breaks all i do is slide in from the other side Quote
93CutlassSupreme Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 A floor shifter is pointless on an automatic equipped car. Quote
