rockfangd Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 I have a full setup with amp and 12 disc changer. i want to know if anything would work in my cutlass Quote
slick Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 The headunit should. And maybe some of the speakers, if they are the correct size, and bolt pattern. Quote
5speedz34 Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Most factory Bose stuff is crap though right? Quote
BXX Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Most factory Bose stuff is crap though right? Yup, the saying is "No highs, no lows, must be a Bose" Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 One of my friends has put Bose in his 1995 Supreme and doing so to his 1988 Supreme. And guys, sorry to be an asshole, but he did not ask for opinions, he asked if the set up would work in his Cutlass. George, if you like to work on your car, then it can be done. Quote
Captain Ficho Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 If your Cutlass has the 6 speaker system, the dash speakers are 4", door speakers are 4x6" and rear speakers are 6x9", if you want to see if they would fit or not. Quote
jeremy Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Most factory Bose stuff is crap though right? the old w-body BOSE sounded like shit.....the BOSE setup in my that came stock in my '99 Catera sounded really damn nice Quote
1990lumina Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 As does the one in my 2001 Millenia. Quote
rockfangd Posted April 22, 2008 Author Report Posted April 22, 2008 Most factory Bose stuff is crap though right? the old w-body BOSE sounded like shit.....the BOSE setup in my that came stock in my '99 Catera sounded really damn nice I have the one that is similair to the one from your catera, the only difference is that mine has the 12 disc changer instead of the single disc. Also i am not asking for opinions, my main concern is whether the one from my cadillac has to work through the BCM and so forth. I absolutely love the sound quality and really love the 12 disc changer. if it could work in my cutlass it would be amazing. Right now the cutlass has the 4 speaker setup but i am trying to work on that also Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 I'm willing to be the HU will be powered through the BCM...However, using a earlier 1.5 DIN Cadillac Bose unit should work. Finding one that works will be the biggest challenge. Quote
rockfangd Posted April 22, 2008 Author Report Posted April 22, 2008 yeah i just dont care for the older ones. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 There's a few Cadillac Bose HUs that are nearly identical to the Olds CD HU. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-93-CADILLAC-DEVILLE-FLEETWOOD-BOSE-CD-PLAYER-RADIO_W0QQitemZ380020046327QQihZ025QQcategoryZ38641QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
rockfangd Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 well that one looks almost identical to the one i have in my cutlass now lol. What about using the 12 disc changer with an aftermarket deck? I have to be honest i do not know very much about these newer stereos and amps and what not lol Quote
rockfangd Posted April 28, 2008 Author Report Posted April 28, 2008 can anyone tell me if there is a factory stereo that will work in my car and the cd changer will work off of? Quote
shadow Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Old blose stuff sounds like crap. My 96 Aurora had the blose setup with huge subwoofer and it sucked. The Bose in my 2000 acura TL sounded really good. Quote
rockfangd Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 i honestly believe that it depends on the way the car is set up Quote
