jman093
After nearly a year, I finally figured out why my Lumina was running so bad and got it fixed and have been putting some money into it to fix all the little things on it, including repairing the worn out dogbones. I put in the Energy Suspension poly bushings since they are way cheaper than buying new stock dogbones and holy crap do they cause vibrations! The car was already vibrating when stopped with foot on brake in gear from the worn out stock bushings, but now it's way worse to the point that it's making the the coins I stow in the little cubby on top of the console jing-a-ling as they bounce around in there. On the plus side the engine is rock solid in there and the engine doesn't slam forward with a loud bang when I put in reverse. I know the poly bushings have been done lots of times and is it normal to have that bad of vibrations after putting them in? I've used poly motor mounts on small-blocks and they never caused extra vibration.
3.1cutlass
Yep. Thats normal.
Euro
exactly why I only had my FFP dogbones on my Lumina a week. Couldn't stand the vibrations
Robby1870
Yeah, pretty normal. That's why I went to only poly-U on the engine side of the dogbone and left the rubber on the other end.
3.1cutlass
I have FFP dogbones and have for probably 2 months. I notice the vibrations at first but am used to it now. The benefits make me deal with it.
per0781
the vibrations are minimal
gpchris
I like it. You can feel your engine! I never had rattles or anything just a little extra vibs..
jmoore4294
I wish somewhere would still make them for the 3.4. I'd kill for a poly dog bone over these crappy Chinese rubber ones.
Crazy K
lemme ask... what is the source for the poly inserts? I would only do the engine side one personally.

Any of the major auto chains can order them and have them in a day or two(depending on which one you order from).Part # is 37103G. Those will be the black bushings, they also have red available iirc. 5speedz34
The benefits make me deal with it. benefits...rofl Umm, not having your engine move gets the power to the ground better. Chances are most of these cars need new engine/trans mounts thats why they vibrate so hard....
xtremerevolution
Mine vibrated a lot, but then I got used to it, and its only noticeable during idle. But it does make the engine sound a lot different...

1QUICKHATCH
I made some solid ones up for my lumina, went around the block and put the stock ones back in! Going to make up some poly ones soon as I have some time.

I got one for ya. 4.6 > SC 3.8 The End But honestly, poly mounts shouldn't be that bad. My regal has 178,000 miles now and I've been using the poly mounts for the last 20k without noticing much vibration. Then again, I also have only one dogbone mount instead of the two that a lot of you guys have, even though the L27 has more torque than the 3.1 or 3.4.
