Night Fury
http://www.vimeo.com/916822 WTF?!??! Notice how much vibration there is when I feather the throttle. When I get into it a bit more, it still seems to hesitate. The end of the vid shows a bit better how it shakes. Oh, and this is AFTER seafoam+new plugs and wires+new gas
birdman
sounds like the belt is squeeling and you have a missfire, id check the coils and get a new belt and tensoiner
White93z34
take off the accessory belt and spin stuff fill you find the squeak
supreme_style21
Almost sounds like the alternator could be squealing too. My olds 88 sounded just like that before its alternator barfed its guts out. You changed the plugs, what did you put in it & did you gap them properly? WTF is that knock though? OH damn haha now I see.. you have like 3 problems at once. Tighten up that exhaust. Probably want to check those mounts too.. that's a lot of movement, isn't it? Pontiac6KSTEAWD
I would start by taking your ICM off and having it tested, or grabbing one from a junkyard, and throwing it in (coils plus ignition module). Then take your manifold off, and ohm checking each and every injector. We know you are getting spark, so that kinda eliminates the CPS. We know you are getting gas. We just dont know if you are getting enuf of both.. What was mentioned earlier about taking the belt off would be a good way to find that squeak. Make sure you also look at your motor mounts, and exhaust mounts, and make sure everything is good with them.
spiderw31
You have a constant misfire. At certain RPMs the misfire is setting up harmonic resnonance (the natural frequency something wants to vibrate at, to put it simply) with the engine on its mounts. The resonance acts to amplify the vibration, causing the motor to bounce and move like you are seeing. That is causing the exhaust to bang around and make that horrible knocking sound. Find which cylinder(s) are misfiring, and all those issues will go away. First look for the obvious. Make sure all the plug wires are fully seated on the plug and the coil pack, and that you have the proper firing order. If that doesn't resolve it. I'd next try to narrow down which cylinder(s) aren't firing. If you have access to a timing light, you can easily hook it up and check each cylinder for spark. If you don't, simply pull one plug wire off at a time, and see if it makes a difference in how the car runs. Note, do NOT pull the wire off while the car is running, or you will not like what happens! Once you've determined which cylinder(s) are having the problems, start narrowing down what component is causing the failure. Pull the plug out of the cylinder that is misbehaving, and see if it is wet. If it is NOT, then you have no fuel to that cylinder. If it is wet, then you have fuel delivery. At this point, make sure it is gapped propperly, isn't cracked or damaged, and is the proper plug. If this checks out, make sure the plug wire hasn't been damaged. Then move on the coil. If both cylinders associated with one coil are down, I'd suspect the coil immediately. If they aren't, swap the plug wires on that one coil, and see if the issue moves to the other cylinder. If there is no fuel, use an ohmmeter to check your the injector on the cylinder that isn't firing. 0 Ohms is a short, and the injector won't fire, infinite ohms is an open solenoid coil in the injector, and it won't fire. I believe the reading you are looking for is 12 ohms. One of those should find your issue. As for the squeaking, it sounds like one of your accessories, but I can't tell from the video. Get a carboard tube like you'd find in a roll of paper towels, hold it to your ear, and move your head around the area, and the squeaking will get louder when you are near the source. Oh yeah, and if your motor mounts weren't shot before, they are now or will be very soon with the stress this is putting on them. Hope some of this helps! edited: typing too fast = punctuation fail

Night Fury
Squeaking=alternator. WD-40? Will an alternator from a '94 Ciera work? I have an extra.
Addicted to eaton
Would have to be a 3.1 And yes it would and wd-40... Was that a for real question. And unlike other threads you said stupid stuff in. you can’t pretend u were not here… Because you stated it LOL! And thats when i get off 5:
MonteCarloDude
Squeaking=alternator. WD-40? LOL im not so sure i would use WD-40, your belt would slip big time.
Night Fury
So I pulled the wires one at a time, and none of them seemed to make a difference. Screw this. Tomorrow, I am bringing it to Hillyards (the technical college I go to for Landscape Design) and let the shop check the ohms, etc. There is this really cool guy there that will do it for me.....
