Grand Moff Joseph
This just started a couple of days ago: Whenever the car is moving, regardless of speed, there is a high pitched metallic grind coming from the front left wheel. The noise slightly increases when the brakes are applied, but merely quiets down once the brakes are released. Also, the noise gets a lot louder when turning left, but virtually disappears when turning right. My front pads/rotors are a little over a year old, and have maybe 12K on them at the most. Any other ideas? Ball joints or tie rod ends maybe? Thanks y'all! -Joe PS - This is a 90 Lumina withOUT ABS
GutlessSupreme
sounds like a wheel bearing almost about to give... jack that wheel up and grab the tire and give it a good shake, it'll probably have a lot of play. Just the lug nuts first too, just to make sure they're all tightened. I dunno if that would cause that noise but it's something to check. Crazy K
what he said. I would next raise the car and remove the tire, inspect the pads and caliper, make sure the cv nut is tight... maybe your caliper has been sticky and wore out your pads prematurely? Will do, thanks BTW, about your sig...if the girl next door is hot enough, you should offer to tape it next time Or, better yet, tell her that the experience would have been much better if she had paired the car with its owner for said activities. /aisle seat please
5speedz34
My guess is brakes, but it could be a caliper too.
Crazy K
sometimes the calipers boots wear out and tear, and the bore gets rusted and leads to stuck pistons. I had to replace the calipers once upon a time in my 92 lumina because of this. the left one was worse, and it locked up faster than the right too...there were still skid marks on the shoulder on I-65 from a collision avoidance maneuver I made for at least a year... till they repaved. the girl is not cute. and if I was to touch her... two condoms ARE better than one. 5speedz34
Well, on my truck, since I did the front brakes they squeel when I stop. New wheel bearings too!

Well, after inspection, the isssue is defintely frozen calipers. Both of my rotors have huge grooves in them, and the pads are down to nearly bare metal. time for some new calipers for sure. Oh, and if that many condoms would be needed (and I'm sure a lot of beer), then I'd feel really sad for your poor cutty. Hopefully you washed it asap.
